Getting Started with Playback Modes
Playback Modes Overview
Playback Modes allow you to choose a training mode that works best for your personal learning preference. In addition, you can speed up, slow down, review, or re-do any training topic you wish. Try each mode to identify which you like best. There is no limit to how many times you can repeat topics or try various modes, so feel free to exiperiment as much as you like.
There are 5 currently available playback modes:
- See It!
- Try It!
- Know It?
- Do It!
- Print It!
Each of these playback modes are described below -
See It! mode enables you to watch an animated, movie-like demonstration of tasks being performed in a simulated environment. Just sit back and enjoy this mode. Be aware that most frames have a 5 second time delay, so if you think the simulation may not be working, wait for a few moments to see if it begins or continues. In See It! mode, you also have the ability to pause the tutorial and resume later. Use the blue "Pause" link in the bottom, right corner of the bubble while watching to stop the tutorial.
*Select the See It! Mode from the top, right-hand Playback Mode menu bar (pictured below).
Try It! mode enables you to learn interactively as the simulation guides you through the process with specific step-by-step instructions. Use your mouse to follow the directions in the bubbles and successfully complete the topic, or press Enter on your keyboard to skip through steps. **Most users report that Try It! is the most effective tool for learning OMNI processes.**
*Select the Try It! Mode from the top, right-hand Playback Mode menu bar (pictured below).
From within the Try It! mode, if you miss a step, you have the option to go back by clicking the "Actions" link in the top bar of the bubble and selecting "Previous Step."
Also from the "Actions" link, you may also restart the tutorial, jump to the next step, display the overview concept screen (which appears before beginning a tutorial), edit preferences, open basic help instructions, or close the tutorial.
Know It? mode enables you to test your knowledge and skills by repeating the same procedure as in the See It! and Try It! modes with little instruction. This mode allows you to challenge yourself to do the same tasks without step-by-step instructions. Are you ready for OMNI? Test your knowledge and see!
*Select the Know It? Mode from the top, right-hand Playback Mode menu bar (pictured below).
Do It! mode enables you use the "Help" links to receive just-in-time instructions on tasks related to the OMNI page you are currently on. Select a task and enjoy the small pop-up window of simulated, step-by-step instructions to follow while you are completing the actual steps in OMNI.
*Select the Do It! Mode from the top, right-hand Playback Mode menu bar (pictured below).
Print It! mode enables you to view and print processes from the tutorial. Select a tutorial, then the Print It! button to keep a copy of procedures at your desk.
